...every one of these melting miniatures is a minor miracle. Even more wondrous is White’s rich, full-cream sound. Staying true to the form he maintains a firm legato line throughout; there's remarkable subtlety and nuance too, and he's quick to divine the mood and manner of each and every piece. As for Rushton he offers discreet, characterful support throughout. The recording, engineered by Michaela Wiesbeck, is full, warm and beautifully balanced.

Saxophonist, Harry White and pianist, Edward Rushton prove to be a first class duo. Indeed, White is one fine saxophonist who, together with the most sensitive of accompanists brings such a variety of tone, textures, sonority and colour not to mention panache.

Die Miniaturen eignen sich hervorragend für Bläser, wie der US-amerikanische Saxofonist Harry White und sein Partner Edward Rushton eindrucksvoll zeigen.

"American Record Guide" September/October 2016

The recital is well done and enjoyable. The selections have a wonderful variety of color and character, and they are delivered with great care, thought and vigor. White boasts an easy and natural lyricism, especially in soft and tender moments; and Rushton plays with a warm and elegant touch.

"Fanfare" November/December 2016

White's conviction [that the saxophone is suited for these pieces] proves correct, not least because of his unusually gentle, honeyed tone, subtle intensity of expression, and supple legato. He sounds like he is singing. English composer and pianist Edward Rushton is the ideal partner, subtle and imaganitive.

Ihre differenzierte Annäherung an die menschliche Stimme überzeugt ebenso wie der Einbezug von vergessenen Komponisten wie Pierre de Bréville oder László Lajtha.
